About the blend
Frankincense is the anchor, clean and bright, like old-church smoke. Dragon's blood adds warmth and a faint sweetness, as well as strengthening the intention. Rosemary and laurel bring middle notes to the scent, with angelica and St. John's wort bringing in additional protection. And just a touch of clove to give those spirits a little kick in the ass on their way out the door!
Because each batch is hand-ground, texture and color will vary a little from jar to jar and from the photograph. Give the jar a gentle shake before opening to loosen up the contents.
"Hallow" is the old word for making something sacred, and the first part of making a place sacred is clearing it out. Banishing is more spiritual hygiene than drama. Things accumulate, and you sweep them out. Smoke clears the room, but it doesn't mend any leaks in your wards, so pair this incense with a look at your protection to seal the job.
How to use
Light a charcoal disc in a heatproof dish and let it ash over. Sprinkle on a small pinch. Walk the space widdershins (counterclockwise) from the front door, and say out loud what is no longer welcome. The traditional working sequence is banish, ward, and shield. For a layered working, burn it alongside the Hallowed Witch Banishing Candle.
Who this is for
Witches and pagans doing house cleansing, new-home or new-office clearing, post-argument resets, and Samhain-season banishing. This is a solid first loose incense for a beginner learning to work with charcoal.
Never leave burning incense unattended. Burn in a ventilated space, away from children and pets. Contains mugwort; avoid if pregnant.
