Cappuccino Jasper & Pyrite Stretch Bracelet — One of a Kind
Matte grey-brown stone with black banding runs the whole circle, and five mirror-bright goldish beads sit spaced through it. The finish is striking because the jasper is satin rather than glossy, and the gold reads twice as bright as it would on a polished strand. This bracelet flashes from across a room while staying entirely neutral up close. One blue-grey bead sits off to one side, the single cool note in a warm strand. Soul Seed Creations hand-strung this.

About the stones
Cappuccino jasper is a trade name rather than a mineralogical one. The material is a banded brown jasper, and jasper is microcrystalline quartz with the crystals packed in sugar-like grains, which is what separates it from chalcedony, where the same material lies in fibrous layers. Jasper can carry up to a fifth of its volume in foreign material, and that's where every bit of color and pattern comes from. Here it means dark bands laid down in layers through a grey-brown body, so each bead cuts the banding at a different angle. Some read as near-solid stone, others show two or three clean stripes.
Pyrite is iron sulfide, and it grows in some of the most architecturally striking forms in the mineral world: striated cubes with the striations running at right angles on adjacent faces, and twelve-sided pentagonal dodecahedra. The name comes from the Greek for fire, because two pieces struck together throw sparks. Its brassy shine earned it the nickname fool's gold, and the Inca used polished pyrite as mirrors.
