Green Aventurine Merkaba Pendulum – Star Tetrahedron, Matching Stone Grip

(0 review)

What you get: One carved green aventurine merkaba on a silver-tone cable chain, finished at the grip end with a round green aventurine bead cut from the same material. Merkaba approximately .5" across; chain approximately 7".

About the shape: A merkaba is a star tetrahedron — two three-sided pyramids interlocked, one pointing up and one pointing down, eight points in total. In sacred geometry teaching, the upward tetrahedron carries the ascending current and the downward carries the descending, with the interlock representing spirit and matter held in the same form rather than ranked against each other.

The name merkaba comes from the Hebrew merkavah, meaning chariot, and refers to the throne-chariot of Ezekiel's vision and the body of Jewish mystical practice built around it. The popular three-part gloss you'll see repeated everywhere (Mer as light, Ka as spirit, Ba as body) is a 20th-century construction, not an ancient Egyptian etymology. The geometry is genuinely old, but that particular story about it is not.

About the stone: Aventurine is a quartz, hardness 7, colored by microscopic fuchsite particles suspended through the stone. Those particles produce the occasional glint you catch when light hits a facet at the right angle. The name comes from an Italian glass, a ventura, that had the same randomly spaced sparkle. Green is the most common variety. Major deposits are in Brazil, India, and Russia. Some pieces run pale sage and nearly opaque, others deeper and more translucent. Natural stone; your piece will vary from the photograph.

Correspondences: Traditionally Aries. Water and Earth elements. Heart chakra. Vibrates to the number 3.

Keywords are vitality, growth, and confidence. Aventurine activates and clears the heart, and it also shields it; it blocks those who would tap in and draw on another person's energy, which is valuable for anyone who reads or does healing work for other people. It balances projective and receptive energies, aligns the intellectual, emotional, physical, and auric bodies, and reinforces decisiveness, leadership, and instinctive action.

Its actual character is optimism carried lightly. Aventurine is the stone for moving into new situations — new work, new home, new study, new relationship, new spiritual direction — and for the harder passages of aging, illness, and mortality, not through resignation but by taking things in stride with a certain humor. In meditation it helps you persevere through the stretch where nothing appears to be happening, where most people quit.

Who this is for: Anyone dowsing on questions where their own actions do not control the outcome. Aventurine is the classic luck stone, a good stone to carry to a first date, a tax audit, or the racetrack. It is also an unusually forgiving stone to work with, since you need only be near it to get the benefit.

Aventurine is widely sold as a money stone. In practice it behaves more like an opportunity and forward-motion stone than a cash-in-hand one. Bought for optimism and new beginnings, it holds up.
