About the stone: Amethyst is quartz colored by manganese, with iron content shifting the depth of purple. Color ranges from pale lavender to near-black plum, and most faceted points will show visible zoning where the shade changes along the length — a paler crown grading into a saturated tip, or the reverse. That banding is natural and is part of why cut amethyst reads so well as a pendulum: you can see the point's orientation at a glance. Natural stone; every piece is different from the photo.
