Two brass swallows dive-bomb toward a bouquet of hand-cast flowers, and perched below – utterly unbothered – sits a little turquoise cat on a nest of freshwater pearls and painted leaves. NoMonet built this piece around a true story: birds outside her studio that fearlessly guarded their nest from anything that got too close, cats included. The result is "Go Away Cat" – equal parts sweet and territorial, which is about how it usually goes with familiars.
