Two runes anchor the story. Tiwaz — the rune of Týr, the god who laid his own hand into the wolf's jaws so his people could be safe — speaks of courage, justice, and the sacrifice you make without needing to be seen making it. The stones were chosen to hold that tension between fierce and patient:
- Sodalite (the deep ocean-blue chips) — the stone of truth-telling and clear thought, cooling the mind so you can say the honest thing plainly.
- Magnesite (the creamy, marbled beads) — a stone of calm and patience, softening the sharp edges of a warrior's discipline into something you can actually live inside.
- Buffalo bone — grounding, ancestral, and unpretentious. The buffalo wastes nothing and provides everything; this bone remembers that.
