Thurisaz rune on a wooden disc

Thurisaz

Thurisaz is thorn, jötunn or outsiders, defensive force, and the sharp edges of protection. It is neither polite nor soft; it is the boundary that makes predators think twice.

This rune cuts. That can mean warding, banishing, protection, disruption, or breaking open something that has been festering.

If you drew Thurisaz today

Shields up! Something needs you to draw the line today. This does not automatically mean attack. Sometimes it means precision, like looking for a leak in your defenses. Make sure you identify what needs protection, then draw your circle and hold it with the thorn: sharp enough to cut, rooted in the ground for strength and stability.

What, exactly, are you protecting? And what are you protecting it from?

Cautionary shadow

Thurisaz is chainsaw energy: useful as hell, but terrible as a fidget toy. If you aim from rage, panic, or wounded pride, you may cut many things you didn't intend to lose. Actions have consequences, so be careful of going hulk-smash on your problems.

Write your boundaries down so they are clear. Say them out loud for practice.
