Eihwaz
Eihwaz is the yew tree, flexible and resilient, yet poisonous. It stands for the World Tree, the axis mundi; it's the rune of transformation and rebirth. The yew is both poison and medicine; evergreen, it dies back and returns, and provides the wood of bowstaves and graves. It's the spine of Yggdrasil running through all nine worlds, the vertical path between life and death, above and below.
Eihwaz is the gateway, the hard passage you have to go through, not around. The only way out is through.
