In the quiet hills of southern Indiana, an ancient Celtic tribe has lived unchanged since the Iron Age, hidden in plain sight, with horses, handmade tools, old magic, and the Goddess herself. Then a skeptical anthropology professor shows up to study them, and discovers she can work magic, too. What follows is enchantment, swordplay, sacred oaths, a centuries-old blood feud, a greedy developer, and duels breaking out in the local strip mall. Woman Afraid of Water blends folklore, magical realism, and real humor into a heartwarming story about transformation and finding magic where you least expect it.
