Discernment in Deep Waters
Confident Witch Circle: Laguz • $49 • August 28, 8pm • Pre-Registration Is Required
You're not gullible for looking at a mirror.
Still water gives back whatever stands over it. That's just physics; it doesn't matter whether what's standing over it is a face, or a hope, or a story that you are desperately wishing were true.
Which is why the feeling of truth is such a poor instrument. It runs strongest exactly when the reflection is cleanest, and the reflection is cleanest when you have brought the most of yourself to the still waters. Anyone who has been "taken in" by a person, a group, or an ideology has run into this. Most walk away concluding they were just stupid, but they're not. They're just human, as are you and I.
Better tools exist. They are time-tested, they are specific, and they belong to anyone willing to take them up. And that's what we're doing in this class.
Never been to a Confident Witch Circle? Never studied the runes, or Norse myth? You're not behind; start from right here!
✽ What you'll take home
The Vanir Got Fooled
Meet Hœnir, who had exactly as much looks and brains as Ken, and Mímir, whose head kept giving good counsel long after it left his shoulders. What was the tell that gave the game away?
4 Questions to Check
Sigurd had a dying dragon, a foster-father, and a flock of birds all telling him different things, and some of them had a reason to lie. Learn how he sorted out the truth and put it to work for yourself.
A Practice to Keep
Water scrying in a dark bowl, with a new verification tool so you're not left wondering what to believe. Labradorite is for the looking, and sodalite is for the sorting.

Wisdom isn't what it seems
At the end of the world, when the gods are dead and the survivors are picking golden game-pieces out of the grass, the one god who never had an answer of his own is the one left holding the divination twigs.
An empty vessel makes a poor chieftain, but a very good mirror. Come find out why that matters when you're the one looking into the water.

Looking into the depths
This class falls right after the peak of the Full Moon, a time when everything feels significant. Ideal testing conditions for scrying, because nobody needs discernment when the signal is weak and lonely.
Our practical working is water scrying, with a practical verification step. We'll break down the process step by step, using labradorite and sodalite as our crystal allies for clear sight and clear thinking.
And in the 'tween space of twilight, you'll learn how to tell what's in the water from what's in your reflection on the water's surface, with four questions you can keep in your Book of Shadows for future use.
Real humans study and work here.
Queer, neurodivergent, disabled, chronically ill, and socially awkward people are what passes for "normal" around here. (Psst: "normal" is just a setting on the dryer.) Straight, neurotypical, socially effortless people are welcome too. We assume they can adjust.
