Apollo kept a white raven to watch the woman he loved, and the raven flew to her, saw her, and brought back the truth. Apollo killed her, regretted it, and then blamed the messenger. Every crow since has worn the color of that god's temper.
It's not just Greek myth, either. We'll learn about several different cultures and their relationships to crow and raven.
Odin sends Huginn and Muninn out over the whole world at dawn and they return by breakfast with everything they saw, giving him the name Raven-God. (Inside, he's actually afraid they won't come back.) Thought worries him, but Memory worries him more.
The Morrigan comes as a bird on a pillar, telling the men to keep watch, because the enemy are coming. She comes as a woman, is refused, and returns to fight after fight as an eel, a she-wolf, and a red heifer. She comes blind and lame and milking, and receives blessings and healings.
Ninety minutes on the corvid as messenger, and on what tends to happen to messengers. We'll work through sources from around the world, and turn lore into practice: omen work, memory work, and the discipline of bearing true witness.
No experience needed. You don't have to talk if you'd rather not. You don't have to have a tradition or a good reason for being curious.

Entry to Crow Party is free for everyone, noon to 8 PM. This workshop is included in both the Crow Pass (Corvid Magick) and the Corvid Court pass. If you're buying one of those, you don't need to buy this ticket.
