The journey is ending. What are you bringing back home?

All year, you've been out there in the world: working, growing, gathering, burning through the daylight hours. You've been on a journey all your own.

Now the harvest is coming in. We're sliding back toward the dark half of the year, and it's time to bring the journey back home. To put what you've gathered on the table and take stock. To share it with your people, because sharing is the point of community.

Mannaz is the rune of community and humanity, of being a singular, sovereign human being who is also one integral part of many in an interconnected community. Both at once. This class is about the homecoming: the cost of bringing your gifts back to the hall, the grace of receiving the gifts others bring to you, and the fire of inspiration that only burns when it's poured out.

Never been to a Confident Witch Circle? Never studied the runes, or Norse myth? You're not behind; start from right here!

A Viking-style drinking horn on a shelf

A god made by the community. A theft paid for in full. A storyteller pours out his wisdom.

Kvasir was born from the truce of the gods themselves, community made flesh. He walked the world giving wisdom to anyone who asked, until he was killed for it, his blood made into the Mead of Poetry.

Odin stole that mead back and brought it home to the gods (and paid his own price along the way). Bragi, the god of poetry and eloquence and inspiration himself, tells us all about it, the keeper of that fire of inspiration.

Come meet the gods together. Listen as Bragi tells the story of Ríg and the divine spark that lives within all humanity, and watch as Odin's ravens bring the news of the world back to His hall every night.

✽  What you'll take home

The Fire of Inspiration

Meet Bragi, the god who presides over the gift that Kvasir's sacrifice made possible. And learn why gifts given to community are not necessarily under your control.

The Human Pattern

The Heart chakra connects us through the bonds of love and caring for each other. You cannot truly know yourself without knowing how you fit among others. Find your sovereign place in the connected pattern.

A Practice to Keep

A gratitude journaling practice built for partnership, because spoils are for sharing. With the Raven as our ally to make sure we don't miss a single beat.

Cakes and Ale

Every Wiccan ritual you've ever attended probably ends on the same note, with food and drink, blessed and shared. Ever wonder why?

This fortnight's practical working is the cakes and ale rite itself. We'll break it down into its functional parts: grounding the power raised, sealing the communion of the circle, feeding the community body and the community spirit.

Then we'll practice it together, sealing our own promises to share the fires we are bringing home this fall. Because the rite isn't finished until the energy is shared.

What to expect and how our classes flow

We have a maximum of 12 seats per class; usually there are 3-8 students. You won't get lost in the crowd here!

We'll start with an introduction and grounding meditation to get everybody comfortable. Then we'll listen to myth and story, learn a few practical magickal correspondences and skills, and share a working or daily practice. Our sessions include group coaching, where we bring personal problems to the group for outside perspectives and ideas. Sharing is always voluntary!
